XZERES 442SR

XZERES 442SR

The XZERES 442 was the most efficient rotor design tested by a third party in the small wind industry today. Its performance has been tested and validated by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and can produce up to 40% more energy than its competitors of the same rating in some wind resources. Today, the XZERES 442SR has seen substantial improvements over its predecessor the 442. With many installations in a wide variety of wind resources, the 442SR has seen improvements up to 23% more than has been validated by NREL.

The XZERES 442SR is designed to generate low cost energy through efficiency, reliability, and longevity. Its simple design limits moving parts to reduce service and maintenance costs, as well as allow for easy installation.

This machine gets its name from its large swept area of 442 sq ft. Name plate capacity of a wind turbine tells one very little of its efficiency or energy production potential, whereas swept area is directly related to energy production. By focusing on performance and reliability, our systems produce the lowest lifetime cost of energy, which yields the best return on your investment. Using the best parts and materials available today, the 442SR’s quality and durability are second to none.

Renewable and Efficient

Reduced energy consumption is affectively increased energy production. Paired with the XZERES 442SR, the XZERES Smart-Optimizer 1000+ Power Efficiency device will lower business and residential energy consumption by up to 20 percent. XZERES Power Efficiency can reduce a 1,000 kWh energy bill by up to 200 kWh each month. These savings affectively increase a wind turbine's production output by 1kW.

Designed for XZERES wind turbine installations, the XZERES Smart-Optimizer 1000+ understands power consumption and sets energy capacitance accordingly. It’s predictive energy consumption monitor allows energy use to be optimized in real time. This unit has been designed for load fluctuations and maximizes in-phase energy as a part of a wind turbine controller installation. This intelligent monitoring increases potential energy savings at low and at peak energy demand levels.

On Grid

direct connectThe XZERES 442SR on grid system is designed to plug directly into the power grid. It Includes wind turbine, turbine controller, two (2) SMA -SB- 6000 (6kW) inverters, diversion load, service disconnect switch and lightning/surge protection.

Off Grid

battery connectDesigned for serious off grid living as well as business applications. The system includes wind turbine, battery charge controller, diversion load, service disconnect switch and lightning/surge protection.

Marine

MarineThe XZERES 442SR-M features corrosion protection for marine coastal applications. Surface finishes, fasteners, and electrical enclosures are compliant with industry standards for marine, estuary, and coastal environments with high salinity, but are not intended for direct spray or submersion.

Turbine Diagnostics

wi-fi-ready

Turbine health is important for sustained uninterrupted energy production. The XZERES Turbine Controller has an on-board diagnostics system which records performance metrics and is web enabled and Wi-Fi accessible from a home computer or handheld device.

Cost of Energy

XZERES Performance data independently verified in the Wind Turbine Generator System Power Performance Test Report for the XZERES 442SR Wind Turbine, February 2010 by the National Renewable Energy Lab. Wind energy systems include the turbine, tower, inverter and controller. Total cost includes annual maintenance costs of 0.5% per year of total system cost for products with 10-year warranty, 1.0% per year for products with 5-year warranty. This model assumes a 30% federal tax credit and a 25% state rebate. This analysis assumes energy usage equals energy output.
